Amy Brekke (owner)

Originally from the Midwest and now lover of all things Charleston, she lives here with her husband and they are busy with their 5 children and 2 dogs as well as own and operate 2 businesses. Alpha Home Design & Consulting and yes also, For the Love of Art studio!

Amy has had a love for all things art since she could hold a crayon. She especially loves acrylic painting. When she is not doing paint parties she also teaches middle school art at a local private school in Charleston. It is a great rewarding challenge that she enjoys.

Besides art, Amy is passionate about writing and is very involved with her church community.

She graduated with a degree from Crown Bible College.

Her favorite things to paint are trees, ocean scenes and flowers. She loves seeing first timers go from slightly intimidated at the beginning, to absolutely loving it and then by the end of class they are grinning from ear to ear glowing in the fact that they just made their own work of art!

Karissa Brekke

A valuable member of the Brekke family (Amy’s oldest daughter).

Karissa loves anything art. On the side she does digital drawing commissions for online gaming enthusiasts via her stream followers. She plans to major in graphic design and is currently a student at Charleston Southern University.

With her fun-loving and patient attitude, she enjoys teaching the kids parties most. Her favorite thing to paint is anything with characters or animals.

Rachel King

A local Charlstonian artist who brings a ton of creativity to For the Love of Art with an extensive background in multi-cultural art. She is especially gifted at painting people and pets and is super fun and brings a lot of life to any paint party. We are blessed to have her on a very part-time occasional basis.
