The Artists

Amy Brekke (owner)

Originally from the Midwest and now lover of all things Charleston, she lives here with her husband and 4 of their 5 kids (1 is married) and also a golden doodle named Jarvis, a rabbit, tortoise and a parakeet. Her husband Scott designs homes and is the owner/operator of Alpha Home Design & Consulting.

Amy has had a love for all things art since she could hold a crayon. She especially loves acrylic painting.

Besides art, Amy enjoys writing, attending church, and spending time with her family.

She graduated with a degree from Crown Bible College and along side her art business has worked part time as a middle school art teacher, communications director at a church, and for the city of Charleston at Bees Landing Rec Center doing kids art summer camps and classes.

Her favorite things to paint are trees, ocean scenes and flowers. She loves seeing first time painters go from slightly intimidated—to absolutely loving it by the end and are grinning from ear to ear having just made their own work of art!

Karissa loves all things art. On the side she does digital drawing commissions and works at Marco’s pizza as a delivery driver. She is currently a junior at Charleston Southern University and will major in Graphics Design with a minor in business.

She is amazing at digital art but was also recognized at CSU for her excellent work on a white owl done in acrylics amongst other works she has been adding to a portfolio.

With her fun-loving and patient attitude, she enjoys teaching anyone to have a great time painting on canvas at her parties. Her favorite thing to paint is anything with characters or animals, but she excels at them all.

Rachel King

A local Charlstonian artist who brings a ton of creativity to For the Love of Art with an extensive background in multi-cultural art. She is especially gifted at painting people and pets and is super fun and brings a lot of life to any paint party. We are blessed to have her on a part-time occasional basis.
